Out of all the news-related shows on NPR, Marketplace is my favorite (with Car Talk being my favorite entertainment program). I set my alarm so I can wake up to the Marketplace morning report. The information is always educational and relavent and a good, although sometimes depressing, way to start the day.
Friday evening as I was driving, I caught Marketplace and was fascinated by their latest series: "Consumed: Is the consumer economy sustainable?" All of the pieces from the series so far are available on their website. Also, they have a game, Consumer Consequences, which tells you how many planets would be needed if everyone lived like you. Educational and relavent with a dose of realism. It isn't all doom and gloom, but an exploration of current and future options for change. Check it out.
