classic

I made these last year and I am making them again this year because that is part of what Thanksgiving's about: eating and tradition. (See link for pics from last year).

Broccoli Casserole
Preheat oven to 350
-2 pkg frozen chopped broccoli, cookies until just tender (10 oz box)
-1/2 can mushroom soup
-1 well-beaten egg
-1 T grated onion or onion powder
-1/2 C grated cheddar (use more)
-1/2 C crushed cheez-its (more)
Stir soup, egg, and onion into broccoli.
Place mixture in 8x8 dish.
Sprinkle on cheese, top with Cheez-its.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
**Triple recipe: Use 9x13 pan.

Sweet Potato Casserole
Preheat to 350.
1 40oz can sweet potato
1/2 C sugar
2 eggs
1/2 C milk
1 T vanilla
1/2 t salt
Topping (added for last 10 minutes):
1C light brown sugar
1/3 C flour
1/2 melted margarine
1C chopped pecans

Drain sweet potatoes. Mash with hand or mixer.
Add remaining ingredients and beat well.
Pour into greased dish.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Remove and add topping. Bake for 10 more minutes.
**To double recipe, double sweet potato mixture and 1.5x topping.
