On Monday evening (7/31), we attended the "Bat Flight" show at the park. Thousands and thousands of bats fly out of the cave around dusk, for anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours. They exit to find food - eating a crop-destroying caterpillar in nearby fields. As they exit the cave, the hurl out and upward in a massive spiral , and then unfold into column, a trail off to the horizon.
