The perks of working at Google, especially on the main campus in Mountain View, have been well covered. Beyond on-site amenities, however, is an extetnsive Google-operated transportation system. There was an article a while back in the NYT about it (which is now archived and thus I cannot link to it or paste it here). This is the intro:

It went on to describe how this network of bus routes (which I think it said it larger than any one of the individual Bay Area public transit systems) is a huge benefit in place with tons of traffic and the highest gas prices in the U.S. And how efficient and effective their own system is. Can't you see the commercial: "Hey, commuting in the Bay Area sucks? There's a free google solution for that*. (*for employees only)"

Kris is staying 3 miles from the office and has his own car, so he has not gotten to try out the buses - which are of the coach bus variety and include, of course, wireless internet. Since he knows I like public/shared transit, he grabbed this shirt for me, which they were giving away:
