As mentioned previously, when we went to the Cal-UT game at Cal, we were impressed with the snottiness the student section:
"-Cal students are clever - they have coordination and can spell. During half-time, the student section held up coordinated colored panels to spell things out. (Maybe it is a PAC-10 thing - they do it at Arizona too, but not with so much cleverness). The best was: "What's SEC stand for? -- Sorry Excuse for College." To which I took personal offense."

In contrast, this article in the student paper today notes that the AZ student section attempted a crowd-spelling stunt. The results:
"There were five specific stunts, each of which said something different, Bensen said."The first one said 'Go,' the second said 'Cats' and then the third, fourth and fifth said 'U, of, A' with the big block A at the end," she said. Unfortunately, during the event, the word "cats" was misspelled: "ctas." "

Conclusion: Perhaps this reflects on the U of A students; or perhaps it shows that Cal students have put a lot of time into spelling things/finding ways to make themselves feel better than others, while U of A students are just having a good time.

(But, really?? "CTAS?")
