My sister is coming to visit for her spring break, which overlaps with mine. It is the start of spring wild flower season, but we will be heading north (to the Grand Canyon!!). I am trying to enjoy as many flowers walking to work as possible. Because of drastic cuts to education by the AZ state legislature, the University (finally) is cutting back on rotating in new flowers every week. This is fine, because usually they were not native flowers. That just means the more natural flowering plants are more noticable - and appreciated. Here is one tree I have been admiring. It looks like it has little mini yellow pop-poms on it, or those little fuzzy balls you would glue together at camp to make creatures or to decorate popcicle stick frames.
